Coffee-mate Ice Cream

Looks like ice cream has became my staple. Calorie? What Calorie?

Anyway I came across many attempts of this Coffemate Ice Cream on FB.
Then I goggled it for the detailed recipe. Like it can get any more detailed, it has just 3 ingredients, tops. For the life of me! Why didn't I discover this earlier?  I remember living very far from supermarket or mart as a child and all I could came out with when ice cream craving hit was Ice Cream Malaysia!

I love Ice Cream Malaysia don't me wrong. Especially Asam Boi flavour. But it's not very sophisticated when you come right down to it. Tied plastic tube? Come on. More terribly when you want to have the ice cream outdoor (no knife to cut the knot). You will just have to twist the knot using your teeth until it came off. Gasp. Though if had indoor, with tens of knives in the kitchen drawer, I'll still do the same. Ngee.

Coffemate Ice Cream would be a more sophisticated option because we could make it and put it in smart containers like these,

Or play wannabes,

It is human nature to judge the container and not what's inside.

The recipe:

Coffe-mate Ice Cream

1 cup Dutch Lady Milk Chocolate (or any other brand/flavour)
I cup Coffee-mate
1 tbs Vanilla Essence

Blend all the ingredients together. Place in any SMART container. Freeze it for 2 hours before blending it all again just to get rid of the ice crystal. Then freeze it again before serving.

Mine as pictured above does not seem to have that much ice crystals though I churned it only once. Ice cream will get a better texture with more cream than liquid (like the previous recipe) but this would be a yummy, yet cheaper substitute. I read that this same recipe tasted much better (and textured better too of course) if churned using ice cream maker.

Ching. Just add ice-cream maker into my kitchen-to-buy list.
Now on to adding another piggy bank.
